Our Work
ACCESS, EDUCATION, & SAFE PLACES
WOBC uses bicycles to improve health, expand transportation access, and create more opportunities for people to ride.
Bicycle Access & Mobility
WOBC provides free access to bicycles, repairs, and safety equipment to dozens of schools, community organizations, and government agencies in the Chattanooga region.
Safe Places to Ride
WOBC creates traffic gardens and other bicycle friendly spaces that give kids and new riders safe places to learn, practice, and build confidence.
Bicycles for Schools
WOBC provides new bicycle fleets to schools. These bikes remain at the school to provide ongoing access for students. Bikes are used for physical education, behavioral support, school programming, and after-school activities.
Transportation Lockers
WOBC partners with local schools to stock ready-to-ride bicycles, allowing staff to provide a bike directly to students who need transportation.
The initiative began through a Future Ready student project at Red Bank High School.
Bike Box
The Bike Box serves as a central distribution hub where staff of dozens of partner organizations can quickly access bicycles for clients who need reliable transportation.
Mobile Bicycle Repair
WOBC brings bicycle repair services directly into the community, helping people keep the bikes they depend on safe and working.
WOBC also provides free weekly bicycle repair at Metropolitan Ministries for people who rely on bicycles for transportation.
Bicycle Education
WOBC partners with the Hamilton County Health Department and Tennessee Department of Health to provide bicycle safety education that helps children build the skills, confidence, and knowledge to ride safely.
Safe Places to Ride
BikeChatt.com provides people with safe places to ride by providing maps and information on bicycle routes, trails, and riding resources across the Chattanooga region.
