Traffic Gardens

A Safe Place to Learn & Ride a Bicycle

Active learning spaces that are designed to provide a safe and educational environment for kids of all ages to learn and practice essential biking, walking, and rolling skills.

More Than a Playground

Traffic gardens are designed to help children develop the real-world skills they need to safely be physically active:

  • Starting, stopping, and turning

  • Riding safely around other people

  • Navigating intersections and crosswalks

  • Understanding traffic signs and markings

  • Building confidence and independence being active

Interested in partnering with WOBC to bring a traffic garden to your school or community?

WOBC is now accepting applications from Southeast Tennessee schools and municipalities interested in teaming up to install a traffic garden.
